  • Apple’s recent update to their iOS, 11.2.5, contains important security updates. AIR recommends that iOS 11.2.5 be used as the minimum version of iOS 11 for student testing. Please note, devices running other supported versions of iOS (9.3 or 10.3) are not affected by these security risks and are not required to be updated to iOS 11.2.5.

  • The updated version of the Secure Browser is now available for Mac OS 10.13 and can be downloaded via the Secure Browsers page. The updated browser must be installed on each computer that has Mac OS 10.13 and will be used for online testing during the 2017-2018 school year, and should be used for all assessments in the Hawai'i State Assessment Program: the Smarter Balanced Interim and Summative Assessments, HSA Science Assessments, HSA Alternate Assessments, and End-of-Course Exams. Any previous versions of the Secure Browser will automatically be deleted once the new browser is installed. Information on how to install the Secure Browser can be found in the 2017-2018 Secure Browsers Installation Manual.

  • The Algebra 1 End of Course Exam Test Blueprint reporting category Modeling and Problem Solving has been modified as of August 1, 2017.  Modeling and Problem Solving: Interpreting Categorical and Quantitative Data - has been modified by limiting S-ID.6a to linear models and removing S-ID.6b from the Algebra 1 EOC. Further information and the modified Test Blueprint can be found here.

  • Beginning Monday, August 14, 2017, Test Administrators will need to complete the online TA Certification Course for the 2017-2018 school year in order to administer assessments, including the Smarter Balanced Interim Assessments. Test Coordinators, Test Administrators, and Teachers may log in and access the course by clicking here, or by clicking on the Online TA Certification Course card found on the Training Sites section of the portal.
